State of mind

Failure can never define
My emotions I shall iron
They say love is devine
Change I want,to my state of mind
For my only thoughts is you and I combined

The art of us brings me joy
My heart is playing me tricks like a toy
Failure can never define
The love I have for you,is devine
This cardiac tumor in me is benign
For it shall do me no harm
As long as I have my emotions ironed

My emotions I shall hide
For my state of mind is us combined
The laughter you bring
Did I just mention the butterflies
The red hearts reappearing from my eyes
As my retina interprets the view
The view I have when I see you
Thinking you my boo*giggling and blushing*
My state of mind

You are the ray to my photosynthesis
It may seem early to say this
But you my friend, you contain me
Like pollen grains and the bee
We share the unsaid
Even my smallest atom's shells
Orientate on you
You are my state of mind

O Pacific, I Miss You

O Pacific, I Miss you

You probably never knew it,
But I once lived within five blocks from you
I and my kids visited you often to play and to view

You consumed us with sea shells, sand castles, beach balls, and a Frisbee
Those gallant waves from across the sea, most times, were as calm as can be
Slowly washing upon the shores, but occasionally, splashing against the rocks
Your reliability and timeliness, so superior to my own, and more faithful than clocks

From your sandy shores on a non foggy day
Sometimes atop the sea cliffs, whether bright or gray
I watched the sea gulls and my dear children would play
Often your winds were enough to take my breath away
But I never fretted, because I so treasured what you had to say

I miss those regular visits, bringing you greetings
I wish that I could sit in those special meetings The ones where you and the moon make plans and plots
When the two of you with your creator decide, El Nino’s or not

I miss standing above your gusty shores on an observation deck, viewing a Golden Bridge
I miss the sun sets so enchantingly beautiful, as they sheepishly hide beyond the waters
I miss the soothing fog horns of ships sailing in
O Pacific, the list is much too long of what I miss

A Letter To Hurricane Irma

Dear Irma

I have great respect for you as well as all who preceded and who will follow you. I have refused to take any of you for granted even though I have never experienced your presence. Even though we do not always understand, I know that everything that God has created has also been given a time and purpose.

You are a mighty force to be reckoned with. So we do our best to prepare for you so as to minimize the damage that you cause. I know that it is not your fault and that it is even beyond your control. The dear people of Texas suffered the wrath of Hurricane Harvey just a few days ago. He was a category 4 storm and you are coming across the caribbean as a category 5. I don't even want to think about Jose who is following you.

One loss of life is one too many, but with Harvey there were comparatively small numbers of lives lost. We are hoping and praying that God will hear our cry for lives to be spared by you also. One thing is sure: we can prepare for you and pray to God, because only God can control you. I understand that it is your season and your time, but we are praying for mercy.

You have been next to impossible to predict, and the models cannot get a real fix on you. You are strong; you are huge; and your winds speeds of 185 MPH are probably historical. Unfortunately, you might change all the rules about hurricanes. It is being said that there is nothing like you, and you may be the most powerful in history. At 18 miles per hour, at least you are moving faster than Harvey, and that is a good thing for which we are grateful.

I have learned that for Atlantic hurricanes like yourself, there is a list of names for every six years. So the 2017 list will be used again in 2023. The only time this cycle changes is if a storm is so deadly or costly that the use of it's name in the future is deemed inappropriate. The name is retired and removed from the rotation. For example, to name a few: Matthew 2016, Sandy 2012, Irene 2011, and Katrina 2005 are hurricane names that have been retired. In all likelihood, your name and Harvey's will not appear again. We pray that no hurricane like you will ever cross the Caribbean and the Atlantic again.

The walking tree

On a frosty day in winter an old defoliated tree
denied the sky and the soil by the younger ones
walks out of the green forest in sheer desperation.
Crossing barren lands goes to a modern city quite far
But could see no sun of hope to get the foliage back
And could find no soil of compassion to stand erect.
It becomes a human without roots in concrete forest
Its heart soon breaks and forsaken hands hang unheld.
It picks up its broken heart on a burning day in summer
Walks back to the forest and burns humanity in forest fire.

You Confuse me Leo mbalamana

Is this love or hate
Because you have been acting different mate
And its hard to relate
Lets not debate
All I'm saying is the person you are is not the picture you portrait
Just remember it's never too late
To meditate your minds state
And change your fate
Our relationship was so constant
But at this instant you started being distant

My Mother Leo mbalamana

The love I feel for my mother
Is unconditional it's like no other
She has a permanent place in my heart
And no individual will ever take us apart
She was there ever since the start
Calling me smart
Whenever I display my art
No matter how difficult the task
For you I'll do anything mother just ask
You are the queen of my kingdom
My source of strength and wisdom
For you anything Ill sacrifice
To make sure you live in paradise
