Whenever I see hate winning the battle over love…
and I cringe and cower and wince…
I am grateful for Antoine de Saint-Exupery
and his story of the Little Prince.
For even a Little Prince who fell to the Earth
from out of the sky
knew It is only with the heart that one can see rightly;
what is essential is invisible to the eye
"a homogeneous mass of consciousness
God as the all there is, mind cannot name
being both immanent and transcendent
living light intimate in heart aflame”

It is unconscionable to ponder
that God's awesomeness is questionable.
The permanence of his good countenance
lies beyond the sustenance of the shrewdness
of our
insouciant condescension.
The incandescence of His amour in our lives
should remain aglow with eternal longevity,
so that any falsehood
be irreproachably reprehensible,
His presence is without pretence
That thunderous fires
owe His infallibility a debt,
Even when death has dealt with our incorrigibilities,
we must summon courage
to quench the flames of inveterate servitude.
And in solemn solitude
our being
should exude an astute gratitude,
that girds our vulnerability
with great fortitude.
And in the sober cadence of our credence,
we should attest to the sempiternal essence of God's existence,
not to be subsumed by the puerile creed
of a monk with no god.
I am grateful knowing one doesn’t need to live in Hawaii
to embrace the Aloha Spirit
It can help you overcome your anger, bitterness and strife
“Aloha” means harmony, helpfulness and unity…
and it is much more than a greeting…
It is a way of life.
Dancing barefoot in the rain
much needed respite to summer's stifling swelter
~ a welcome ritual expressing gratitude

I am grateful for knowing something
I wish the world would know
How every baby
is born with a need for love…
and is something we never outgrow.
I am grateful for the words of Hans Christian Anderson…
Who I turn to when my view of the world tends to sour:
Just living is not enough…
one must have sunshine,
freedom
and a little flower
I am grateful to my family and friends
for giving me a lifetime of happiness and love…
and helping write the love story….
I’m blessed to be in the pages of.
I am grateful for my Granddad…
Who gave me some of the best advice I’ve ever had:
Waiting around for someone else to make you happy
is the best way to be sad.
I am grateful for understanding parental math…
although I’m sure my elementary teachers
would think my math misguided…
How the love for each of our children,
grandchildren
and great grandchildren
can be whole…
no matter how many times it is divided.
I am grateful that my life is overflowing with wonderful memories
of people I still love, cherish and adore….
Memories that help me fill the empty spaces with joy
when those people, sadly, are no longer with me anymore.
I’m grateful that I know…
something that in every part of the world is true…
If we teach our children to be kind to animals
there’s a good chance they will grow up
and be kind to people too.
Rising each day even when it’s hard,
Open to the little joys that show up.
Walking through life one step at a time
Every instant showing me I’m alive.
"Morning comes, thank God. Thank God. The sun is shining, the birds are singing, the sound is rising, and the planes are humming in the distance. I am awake and ready for the day. I will pray, and with each breath, I'll find my way."
I am grateful I understand with utmost affection
how between a parent and child
there is a loving…never-ending connection….
How we never stop being a child to our parents
no matter how old we are…
no matter where we go…
and how we never stop being a parent to our children
no matter where they go
no matter how old they grow.
I’m grateful that I have known
the love of my family
my friends
my wife
which has helped me understand
how vital love is to a life.
How important it is for us to love everyone
like they’re our sister or our brother…
because we’ll be remembered most when we’re gone
not by how much we have…
by how much we have loved one another
