A Man And His Chair

His favorite chair had a broken spring
He was quite fond of the ugly old thing
But his brand new beau
Said ” this thing must go!"
And that was the end of their short lived fling

Mediocre Man

There once was a man that was lackluster
Who's life was one giant cluster
Writes a suicide note
He slits his throat
Blank stares are all his family can muster

Tick Tac Mac

There was a young man we'll call Mac, who loved to suck on a tic tac. But one choked him today. What a price he did pay and he'll never, ever be back.

Poor Hannah

Hannah Adderley jumped with a wail
from the clifftop at Middleton Dale
but her petticoats cute
made a great parachute
for a soft landing, wow! What a tale!

(Hannah, of Stoney Middleton, Derbyshire, had been jilted at the altar
and although her suicide attempt was a failure she died of natural causes
 two years later in 1764)

A Heart Misleaded

Met a guy who seemed perfect to me
For a period in time my heart could not see
He talked although his true feelings were not told
Every word of his turned into one that was cold
My heart could not take it so I set him free

If I wished for you, I woud have wished too much.
If I were to shed a tear for you, It would have been, one tear too many.
If I tried to just, to live for you, then my death would not have been enough.
Finding a way to say, goodbye to you, where I wouldn't have to lie to you,
where I could say, I tried for you then, in the end it wasn't what, I would do.
When goodbye feels like I'm dying and I'm crying because, I wished for you.
Then a wish before dying is trying to come true, a wish I made while crying over you!!!

Wave Goodbye

An electron, so perfectly round
it could spin without wobble or sound,
was measured carefully
at fixed velocity,
but its position couldn’t be found.

My Parting Gifts

		For Witness Protection, I'm bound.
I have some advice. Gather round.
		First tip: When you see
		a crime, you must flee.
Call cops. After that make no sound!

Next: Grandkids, your rooms are a sight,
piled ceiling to floor--What a fright!
		Now for safety's sake,
		when I'm gone please take
a week or so to put them right!

Last, as I am pulled through the door,
I'll hurry. I want to say more:
		Show love. Be peacemakers.
		Be real; don't be fakers.
Love life and its blessings galore.

Here and gone

The sound of laughter as loud as booming thunder drowned out the crashing of the unforgivable waves
The sand hugged her feet as she ran along it's surface
Forgetting about her worries she watched the sky sheep float by.
Summer had come and gone. She waved goodbye.

Now. Those unforgiving waves drowned out all sounds of joy.
The sand longed to hug her feet again and hear her laughter as she ran along is surface.
Not until the end of winter. Not until the end of spring
Will they ever see her again.

life with Trump III

A sensation with ratings so high
Donald lulls the press who stand by
Even gods cower
In front of Trump Tower
Which will be our future Versailles

Author's note: We know that he really cares about all of us normal folks from his time spent working in agricultural fields and factories and his time spent living with the poor in Appalachia. This man has--through his selfless acts of charity--such as working with aids victims internationally and setting aside apartments for low income tenants in his buildings--shown just how much empathy and compassion he has. His concern for the lives of the ordinary has also been well documented by his friend and Nobel Peace Prize winner, Vladimir P. With such a stellar individual as commander-in-chief, what could possibly go wrong?

3 shorties

What is a kiss? To some a false pretension,
but to those who seek the lust of love,
sweet lips adhere affection.

She went her forgetful way,
she parted the heart of me,
the sting of parting yesterday,
doth haunt for all to see.

Inheritance, that gift of diverse sources,
from parents attributed, determines some courses.
DNA and the genes from one to another,
contoured in the lineage of sister and brother.
Death may award too, a charitable present,
untimely to some, to others expectant.
