What's in a Name .

Mom.. I think I might be homosexual..
CALM~DOWN !.. I just said THINK !..
It's not I fear
My multi~studded ear ,
Or that I look stunning dressed in pink .
I wont complain ,
As I sip champagne
Of my blemish~free youthful looks ,
Or how I enjoy the finer things in life ;
Like fine art , or poetry books .
 NO !.. I never joined the Girl~Guides .
 You're being silly...patronizingly .
I dont like damp
But I do love camp....
'Specially in Summer , by the sea .
I like being with Brad and Christopher ;
Young Lloyd is such a dear
And Mourice is such  a sweet lad ;
Yes.. I'll always keep them near .
But , deep inside my inner soul
When push will come to shove .
For my own part ,
Who has my heart ,
Yes !.. It's Annie I really love .
But one thing that still bothers me ,
And will , until my dying day ....
Is , when on that morn....
Yes!.. When I was born..
WHY ! !.. Did you name me GAY ??...

Body Language

What is it about me that gives you the impression that I am just your average
sleazy, easy, breezy, from the hood who can't possibly get ahead in life unless
you are by my side.???

Is there a note written across my forehead that reads:
do not respect
always neglect and,
never expect any goodness from this creature unless
legs are open and ready for business?

Does my azz have a "grab me" sign stuck to it
or is that what you would allow a strange man to do
to your daughter
to squeeze your mothers breast or are
the words "touch me" tattooed
across my chest?

Do my eyes unconsciously tell you to come over and try to slowly
slide down my panties
with your,
ridiculous lies
heard too many times
from too many guys
who've more than once tried
to get in between
or better yet inside
my thighs.?

Don't get me wrong, I'm being so sincere
I just wanna make it clear that
there is something that you hear
if my body tells you action like the movie genre
or do I look different in every scene like a world

Is bich my name in another language or,
do you see hoe somewhere on my birth certificate?
Am I not worth more than a single letter?...Ay!
or did I somehow give birth to you? Ay Ma!
Do my features confuse you or would you really prefer
a man...."Man".

How can my body speak a language that I have yet to hear?
Well before you get the wrong idea, let me make this clear.

When my azz say "grab me", that really just a lie
If my eyes say "come here" they really mean goodbye
Don't guess my name just ask and I'll let you know
and whatever my forehead region reads is just a bad typo.

It should go something like.... Always respect, never neglect, and only expect
greatness from this Queen no matter what her pulchritude screams.
The media degrades her as society points its finger and laughes
all the while she's searching for your support
the support
of her father
her son,
Why? Because she is yours....
Your mother,
Your Daughter,
Your sister, and
Your Lover.
So...why not?
Love her,
Honor her,
See her for who she really is and
not for what her body says.

She called herself London
On that day
She fell from the sky
Child of apple blossoms
Dancing wildly
Into your mind

The snake that hung from her neck
Bites your hand
Expels you from Eden
Tears into the cool flesh
Of your madness
Posing as reason

Kisses you like a sweet lover
As though she really cares
Lets you
Taste the passionate orchard
In her body’s secret lair

Wrestles with all your demons
Nothing quite compares
To the pain
The indecent pleasure
In the waters that you share

Her name was London
Call her London

She called herself London
On that night
She prayed to the moon
Apollo’s lyre
Played darkly
In a portent
Of your own doom

The hell she hides
In her soul
Toxic drug you’ll never escape
You crave the milk of her touch
Her strange and dangerous ways

Kisses you like a sweet lover
As though she really cares
Lets you
Taste the passionate orchard
In her body’s secret lair

Wrestles with all your demons
Nothing quite compares
To the pain
The indecent pleasure
In the waters that you share

Her name was London
Call her London

My baby, London
Call her London
My moon-girl, London
Call her London

I love her, London
Call her London
Forever, London

I call her London……

Black isn't our name its Beautiful

Being black is not just a figure of speech

Its a noun, adj., & knowing when & when not to turn the other cheek

Many pioneers has lived with the mis representation

While some died fighting to end the civil frustrations

Being black isn't as bad as it may look

Our physical properties don't represent the makings of a crook

Our natural elements are sustainability & resilience

Our original nature made us uniquely

Brilliant enough to handle our own responsibilities

Our culture is design to shine bright so that everyone can see

The Afro American culture sets the tone for a concrete society

And need no help to raise our family

just equality

Even with methods that was used to torment us

"We shall overcome" was a phrase that helped boost us

"By any means necessary" we struggled through the turmoil

Once we began to re "know thyself" the bigots of the world started to boil

Then had to recognize our true uniting potentials

They psychologically uses entertainment to convince us

And install hate inside our mental

Through dis associating our past & segregating our class

Degenerating our creative intentions

Re imagining our mind with criminal inscriptions

So Trust

All we got is us

Our ingredients posses spiritual reasons to teach

They figure since we was enslaved & freed

Afro Americans wouldn't know how to reach

We paved the way to preach

So to prove their unintelligent

They dictated our intellectual & spiritual nature by the color of our butts

Pardon my speech

6. Boodrie is a wonderful water-bird from the Highlands. It haunts and protects the lakes

Big Mac

McMar’s old man didn't like him much
But he never wondered why
All sorts of horrid demons
Could seen in the old man's eye

McMar’s own mother, Doreeane
Couldn’t wait to deliver her son
They say he tipped the scale
Right around 10.1

The nurses couldn’t believe it
The young one brought him in
“Here’s your new Big Mac”, she said
With a happy little grin

Doree said, Oh, Motherload!
I’m having a heart attack
How in the world did you ever know
I was thinking of calling him Mac

Powder Monkey

The noose is a nightmare for any seafaring man
Especially those who thrive the best they can

Danger lurks on the waves like a mugger in the shadows
The only concern is the prize and the gallows

For the young pressed into service have two labors
Cabin boy or powder monkey are their favors

A fair share for those who survived
Though not to many lived to enjoy the ride

Mostly master gunners would employ the young ones
For the task of loader and powder runs

A grizzly sight to any mother of today
Blood spattered, powder covered, limbs severed portray

I dare say I met one intact and conscious
He was rude and quite audacious

No name had he just an X above the knee
His mark given by Captain of the Breeze

A sloop of war in Caribbean was this
Massacred whole crews drunk as piss

The boys attitude so moved my heart
That I had to set him free from his part

Before I saw him he was the only one left to be hanged
Port Royals mob clawed and fanged

I set to watch when I saw how young he was
I had to do something for his cause

I bid the court give me custody immediately
They awaited the response from the Admiralty

The response was yes almost to late
For the executioner just removed the safety plank

He kicked and cried for a moment then released
With the knife of the kings lease

A bruise found its way around his neck as a reminder
For a life against the grinder

I sailed him back to London to learn a trade
And go to school for a decade

I later named him after my name kidd
Later to be known as William Kidd

''My Name''

My name is too old fashioned Daddy, I want a new name, please! When I was quite young I hated my name, it's too long and old sounding, I complained that I wanted a fun name. One day Dad told me about his long dead sister, a great writer- like me, I said in a whisper. And was quite beautiful also, he said, and you have her eyes and long raven hair. I loved her so much and gave you her name. My name is too old fashioned Daddy, I want a new name, please! I wondered why I was like her so much, as she was long dead before I was born. Dad showed me a picture and it was true. I asked my Daddy, if I could keep that picture, he told me all about her quest for adventure. So, I decided to embrace my name, somehow her spirit dwells inside of me, and it still lives in my soul and writing. My name is too old fashioned Daddy, I want a new name, please! ___________________________ January 10, 2017 Ballad For the contest, What's In A Name? sponsor, Silent One Second Place

William part 1

I ask all to be open minded as I tell the story of my friend, William .
There are so many prejudice in this World , from color to sex

To me it has always been the soul , the person inside
For one that is shallow will not experience life in true blessing

William my friend was African American , he was fun and personality full of 'I am here "
William was Gay , William disowned , William called "A queer "

Well this is a lesson for all to know
God does not care what color , but the heart , what color it shows .

I had left my 1st Husband , with 2 children I had to support .
I was depressed , felt alone in the civilian World of a sort

For when I got to Monterey bay , I was on a Military base
Very shy and recluse , not leaving the perimeter of the land
I opened such a big door when I left that abusive Man

I had the tiniest apartment with 2 little rooms , probably 550 sq. feet I presume .
I will never for get the night He came to my door , William ," Girl, lets go dancing
Let's go explore ! He called me 'The platinum Blonde "

We went out together and danced , he was amazing ! William energized any room . He Lit it Up !
For he had something inside his beautiful soul , no money could buy, nor silver or gold.

Well years went by in Monterey bay , I had fallen in love with a man , Lost so much time .

Time went by , after the man broke my heart ,I remember "where is William "
I missed something that lies deep in my heart . The true Love and friendship of he I craved .

Now this story is long so go to "William part 2 "be patient , be brave .

The Dark Years

In the dark years before Redemption
Sometime after DeLilah
Wars were fought on sacred ground
Only to defend

In the name of Louie the first
Certain battles did rage on
Hesekiah staked his claim
There was nothing to be done

Legends came and went
There was darkness everywhere
Someone thought thirteen was lucky
And then forgot to breathe

After that and before Redemption
Some tales were never told
The Trainman finally Let it Go
I heard the six cars rolled

The sons of eeny meeny
Spent the bounty on a car
The sons of Olive Eo demand
Their sister drives the car

The sons of Joe McMar
Changed their name down at the bar
Their mother kept on calling there
And getting the wrong McMAr

Speak His Name

We are often burdened till our faith becomes undone
So torn between what's right and wrong and our last song has been sung
Days of endless stress, not knowing what to do
For we've run out of answers
Theirs no answers coming through

Just speak the name that's above all names and everything will change
He take what you can't handle and your life he'll rearrange
When your burdens overcome you and your backs against the wall
When you speak the name of Jesus, you'll overcome it all

Speak his name....Oh speak his name
Savior of the World, Every day the same
Speak his name, Speak his name
Don't turn and walk away form him, for you'll never be the same Speak his name

Little is much when God is in it, so don't feel so trodden down
I'm here to speak a word to you, soon you'll step on higher ground
For in his name there's victory, and Victory shall be mine
And I am counting you in, He's calling come and dine
On the riches of his Glory, let him hold you close
So that you can feel his power, and his Holy Ghost

He is coming sooner...Oh sooner than you think
Faster than the speed of light , faster than a wink...
Friend, you know where you stand you have so much to gain
And in the end, you'll just begin, so right now, just speak his name

He knows your name

He knows how He made you
He knows the thought He put in you
What you are thinking is came from Him
He made your heart and controls your heart beat
He made your desires; leads your movement
He vigils upon your life, you are His creation
Do not worry about what you fear or hear
Remember what I say, that He knows your name

He created you to live not to die
He made you to win not to loose
He formed you from the vase of wealth and health
I made you as channel of love and peace
All in this earth made for your achievement
All around you is made to sustain your accomplishment
Do not worry about what you see or hear
Remember what I say, that He knows your name

He made the waters to quench your thirst
He made the air to breath in your soul
He made all kinds of aliments to feed your hunger
From the day you came, the air was at your side to breath
The earth will always carry your steps as long as you live
The stone and trees will walk with you in this journey
Do not worry about what you miss or hear
Remember what I say, that He knows your name

He has a task for each one of your days on the earth
Your life is designed according to your calling
Pain and joy work for your vision
Suffering and glory work for your greatness
Failure and success work for your righteousness
He made each day a step to your destiny
Do not worry about what you doubt or hear
Remember what I say, that He knows your name

A faceless name

I walk through the halls and partake on the faces of a million aliens from a million places. I speak to none and hide from all to be a faceless name amongst you all. I look at them as aliens from me but I am an alien in a world of human beings. So I hide in plain sight and speak not a word for being one against many someone will make me heard.

Say queen what's your name?
in a moments delay, i caught a glimpse of your smile, looked in your eyes and saw someone i knew. someone i loved. a face of she that completed the entity of me holistically. I'm sorry your name is..
the spirit beckoned for my presence, i listened but in hesitation i declined the conversation. i remembered the moment my heart shattered into pieces with ends that would no longer be proportionate to any puzzle. the moment my breath became my suffocation, the more i swallowed i saw cloudy pictures i lost sight. i thought i was dying, no one to resuscitate me. she left me in that space hopeless.
speak again, what's your name?
the eyes delivered my trance, thoughts spinning, emotions flipping, i was turning into a ball of confusion, i heard the name but the familiarity was expelling too much energy, i couldn't find the rhythm of me lost in my memory, it's good to remember her, in fear i ran to the the lowest hole but climbed the highest and still didn't reach ground level. i still need her.
you asked my name...
the voice of my sanity, it rang like anita baker angel on a sunny sunday stunning sun rays beaming of the beams of my forehead, tingling the roots to the follicles of my tendrils. speak to me spiritually because verbally i submerge in blue hues with purple colored canvas i become a lush of words. speak to me emotionally with your hands covering mine, feel my pores into yours, drowning in love. whisper slowly in the pits of my being, i need your words to linger this moment may not happen again...
your name happines huddled around ampled eager evident total tenacity heighten humility eventually enmeshed rhythm rupture.

Since that black cruel night of argument
You left me by the bridge of nothingness
loneliness had been my friend and companion.
He knows me by my name,
We play and chat together in the dark
Room filled with the terrible voices
Of an unfinished business between us.

Loneliness keeps me company every now and then
In the lonely street of my heart filled with your presence.
It turns and toss my humble heart like a boat on a stormy oceans.
Why do i let go of you when my heart seek you.
You left me with sadness, guilt and sorrow
Under the hot sun, i sob and cry of you.
Silence mock me and emptiness laugh behind
Those roses you kept in the vase.
I have map out my heart lane on my wall for you
You can retrace your steps back to my heart .

Forgive my ignorance of your heart beat
The non verbal communication i ignored,
I can make it up to you
Now before the night falls.

I thirst my humble name to be
Writ aside those kings and queens
Adorned with diadems and poetry
Conquerors and royalties bow down to me

The golden seal, that immortal lust
For laurel leaf they deem divine
I long to hold someday somehow
To be mine - all mine, all mine

A spellbound tune from my spirited pen
This burning fire consumes me thee
A day will come when I rule the earth
This quest shall end, this prize I'll hold

I thirst my humble name to be
Spoken aside those kings and queens
Engraved in diadems and poetry
I will gain royalty and victory

Little Miss Sure-Shot

Pretty funny name for a girl—her name traveled ‘round the world,
“little Miss Sure=Shot” they called her everywhere.
She sure shootin’ earned her fame—“Annie Oakley” was her other name—
She blasted those little glass balls right out of the air…
And a Winchester rifle became that girl’s best friend!

Little Miss Sure-Shot, you shot through our hearts back then;
And the likes of your marksmanship won’t be seen again.
Little Miss Sure-Shot you shot through our hearts back then…
In your cowgirl costume you rode through our Western dream.

Her Daddy died when she was ten—she picked up a rifle and then
She filled up the table with rabbits and quail to eat.
At fifteen she met her man—good lookin’ with a gun in his hand;
He tried to outshoot her but that hero, he got beat.
So he married little Annie—they hit the bull’s eve with their love!

She done pretty good for a girl Her boss he took her ‘round the world—
Buffalo Bill on that Wild West show-biz trail.
From Memphis to Cheyenne—she shook Queen Victoria’s hand,
Little Miss sure-Shot, her aim it never failed….
And she shot a cigarette out of Kaiser Wilhelm’s mouth!

He keeps a very low profile,
afraid of the the horrible secret he hides;
hooked on a daily dosage of cocaine...
seeking an instant relief from his acute pain!
His cramped den is the stench
of smoked substance bought on drug-infested streets,
and filth is the undeniable evidence:
one can surely tell that he lives in Hell...
red devilish eyes and sunken cheeks;
a wasted mind and body meeting their end!

Restless young man without a name,
wary of the destructible consequences
that stunt your unremorseful conscience;
and what price will you pay and whom will you blame?
Restless young man without a name,
you only existed to fulfill a destiny of shame!

Day-time is so detestable to him,
more than the viciousest enemy;
night-time changes his personality...
and he searches for dope down-town,
where the houses are so run-down...
occupied by the crack-heads of East Main!
A limping kid, from nowhere, hands him
a small bag and he exchanges it for some green;
and what started the urge within...
is a deep wound, which can never heal!

Restless young man without a name,
intoxicated by the poison that destroys your life and health;
you can't be aware of what distorts your weak senses...
until you are helpless and run out of breath!
Restless young man without a name,
guiltless and indulgent...you allow death to happily dance!

But there are no words

I felt it too……
The silence was droning on inside my head
Ripped my heart in two,
Can’t refuse the feeling something missing right where you belong,
Its like my heart knows that you not home. :|
You’re gone.

I can’t wrap my head around it,
You leaving me all alone, open like a gaping hole
Prey to the icy winds of abandonment, the echoes of no response
To me calling your name out loud,
Every time my broken heart tries to beat ??

Heartbreak must be what they call this sentiment,
Don’t wanna wallow to deep in this dark hole,
But I find comfort in the memories taped to these crumbling walls
Heart attacked, crashed down in the desert snow

My writhing hearts beat, strumming to a drumming long gone
Its laboring rhythms, creating perfect snow angels in the fading snow
Each angel singing a different tune
But all filled with the same wishful sorrow filled sound??
“Oh please come back to me….. Please come home”

Honey Wagon

It makes it's run in the afternoons Monday through Friday
At 3pm it will be coming your way
It's not a ride for all to enjoy
It's mainly for the girls, just a few boys
But one female's heart is draggin'
Ms. Betty ponders the question I don't know why he won't give me a ride in the
honey wagon
The men that receive their ride know their ranking in the food chain
First rule, men get in the back, sit down, shut up and don't be a pain
A new girl started today, her name is Megan
One of the guys has to go, to open a seat for her in the honey wagon
When someone is not at the pick up area, the seat remains unoccupied
For the men there is a lot of red tape to qualify for a ride
Who will be the next guy with the right to be braggin'
Fred wants to know when will his name be coming on the list to ride in the honey
Today it is running late
The honeys know it is a long walk to the gate
If it takes a man to be a prince and slay a dragon
He will do any thing for the honor to ride in the honey wagon

*no name* {this was written from a friend to me,with love}

My heart beats fast
I hope it wont last
My mind starts to clear
i start to think about you my dear
even though, you are my past.

From when i start to see your face
Im in a constant struggle
to forget you
People say to let go and set you free
but to me, to let you go is to loose
a piece of me
from where did you come?
But when did you leave?

Voices loud, but soon fade
flat, flat on my back
cold, hot, cold...
a steady beep, beep, beep
in my mind nothing, empty, all alone
light so bright blinding me
footsteps tap,tap,tap
a gental tisk, tisk of disappointment
then nothing, nothing at all

"Honey, you have to open your eyes"
A voice so familier but not,
"I need to hear your voice my dear"
I know you are my past
"Why did you have to go, why leave me"

A hand holds mine, so gentle
I know this hand
then a voice, a voice i know so well
A voice i will follow to the end of the world...

My past, only my past.
Why is my mind so cruel to me?
But the voice of my past speaks to me
"Im so sorry..i didnt know what to do...
i never wanted to leave you...I love you!"

I open my eyes
The face of my dear, not past but present
The face of hope
No not a dream, real.

The final words i whisper
" I know my love, I love you too...dont forget that"

Then darkness consumes me
and i know i die, but as i die i know
im always loved and will always love you too.

Come To The Well

Lord make us courageous to fight,
Lift up our hands towards Your light.
Jesus friend of sinners,
Open our eyes to the world at the end of our pointing fingers.
May we shine to that city on the hill,
Your already there waiting with our hearts for you to fill.
May we hear the toll of the ringing bell,
Make our hearts thirsty to come to the well.

May the glory of Your name be the passion of the church,
Let the righteousness of God be a Holy flame that burns.
We believe Your all to us.
To You the nations bow down,
To You creation cries out.
All things we hold together,
Your name will stand forever.
Majesty! You are Majesty!
For You and You alone awake our soul awake our soul and see,
For the world You love Your will be done let Your will be done in us.
In our hearts Lord,
In this nation.

Secret Ballad of Bonnie and Clyde

I'm Clyde's missing rib his drug to get high, but I'm also the lover who told him a lie.
We went to town and for a day we did linger, so I went get his name tattooed on my finger,
But the guy he messed up, and the ink it bled out, you should of heard me create, scream
and shout.
Now I should of come clean and told him it went wrong, instead I sang Clyde a different song.
I told him it looked pretty just wait for the picture, instead of telling the truth of
this permanent fixture.
I told him it's pretty night after night, and secretly strived to get it put right, the
damage was done I had told him a lie, and now this means the end of Bonnie and Clyde!
See Clyde really loved Bonnie, but his policy was clear, "Bonnie you ever lie, and I'm the
hell out of here, no matter how much it would kill me and hurt,
if you lie to me Bonnie, this love just won't work!"
But I never thought that this was a lie, and from one simple song, I would eternally cry.
"I was trying Clyde to give you the best,
but I lied, and now you Clyde, just can't let this lie rest, remember me Bonnie, the girl
who you love,
whose fidelity matches the white of a dove.
All I can hear is you asking me why? Why, Why Bonnie, Why did you lie"? Lie to the world,
lie to all them,
Bonnie, baby, don't lie to your man! How now can I stay without saying it's fine?
Anytime Bonnie, cross that lying line"?
Clyde took his bullets, he loaded his gun, time now to finish what Bonnie begun.
He aimed the gun real close to his head, and as Bonnie cried no...! Clyde was dead.
He did as he told her in deed and in part, for her lying to him, he Martyred his heart!
What happened to Bonnie well do I really need say?she followed Clyde in the exact same way!
She took the gun held it close to her head, and said "without you Clyde, I'm already dead"!
they found them next morning Bonnie's hand on the trigger, and his name spelt out on her
wedding finger!
Your probably thinking that Clyde was being mean, but you got to remember their love was
extreme, extreme in its nature, extreme in its truth and extreme to the end where both
lives were took!
If this was to happen to lovers today do you think they would act in the very same way?
Bonnie and Clyde 21st century lovers, would they find a way to ever recover? I like to
believe that their love would survive,
head on his chest, he 'd wipe tears from her eyes,
so if to your lover your tempted to lie, please remember the ballad of Bonnie and Clyde.

By Any Other Name

By any name, an object's prime
directive never fails to hold,
for adjectives are pale of hue
if what is hot is labeled cold.

The metaphor is too to blame
if perched precariously in words,
for life still bears its qualities
if ever deemed a dream absurd.

A hurricane who has been named
a devil's deed will not delay
his woeful winds nor see as sins
the lives he drowned or blew away.

And know that morbid memories
are bound by nature to outlast
the man who holds in him their weight
though thinks them burdens of the past.

To desperate men, the regal rose
is but a blossom bred from shame
to hide, not show their hearts; although,
still sweet, that rose by any name.
