The winter season comes as a ballerina, one so at home upon the ice. Her chilled winds twist in pirouettes, her earthen branches in pure-white dress. The winter chill invites us inward, toward the calling of our hearts and to feel the warm blood that flows through each and every vein. ‘Tis the season for meditations, for inner reflections, for spiritual growth and touching one’s soul.

This haibun may have shorter prose, but the quality is still high... love that opening line, shows the elegance of winter... but sadly, as we know elegance of this season does not last... and yes when we are cold we look for warmth and that is found in our hearts for others and as we embrace to keep warm the love returns... lovely haiku at the end also.. you are a real blessing to this community..

How seamlessly your words flow queen of haibuns, i am in awe. And i cant help but dream away to a place of wintry magical ballerinas, enveloping bare trees, how gorgeous and artistic is the way you describe things. I really love the haiku too but most of all i love “ branches in pure-white dress. “ stunning. Your acceptance and ability to be grateful for even winter is so clearly evident. A season of reflections and meditations it is, a reminder to all readers. Love this. A fave for me
