reaching, at a stretch shockingly, still casting a shadow still holding form it's too much to take in nothing can be held, only passed through perhaps shaped by the knowing more likely picked clean of peace I was never within, never within that eye to eye tethered stare once you've seen, you can't look away what kind of life is that/this waiting: until I'm in the ground again

Dear Di11y, as always, your thought-provoking pen spills a gem upon the poetic page. Beautiful verses, intriguing.. they capture the essence of the sculpture pictured above, but they also stand on their own as an exquisite piece of poetry. Congratulations for your wonderful win in Brian's contest. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

your poem was fascinating with several thought provoking lines: "once you've seen, you can't look away. How sad it is to be grounded and then to be uprooted. I understand that anguish and that emptiness. Well done, Di11y! enjoy your week, Sara

Thank you Sara, I wrote it just letting my mind free looking at the sculpture, but it's a little about personal growth and discovery in a way. You build your life initially to an established plan and wait to feel that top of the mountain 'done it' feeling. Then realise there are not only many mountains but a vast terrain and world to be known, impossibly vast. So you can't really ever sit pretty, because now you know that it's all journey. Maybe to be embraced or maybe just to close eyes to but it's definitely there. Thanks for your comment x
