The Pink, And Greys Come

The pink and greys come to feed on the seed
Seed that we put out to fill all of their needs
Needs that they have when the winter comes in
In the garden they come making much din
Din is so loud that one can’t hear at all
All other noises from trees oh so tall
Tall trees they wave with the breath of the breeze
Breeze makes them dance as my senses they please
Please me it does just to watch this great scene
Scene Oh, so filled with the colour of green
Green parrots come too but they’re not so loud
Loud they are not, yet they look oh, so proud
Proud seems to me, for they have such beauty
Beauty they have as I see them fly free

Chain sonnet

I love feeding the birds and this is a beautiful poem. I can hear them as I read it too. Well done. A favorite :)

G'day Heidi. WE HAVE a beautiful range of parrots here, and I adore them. Most of our parrots are so noisy but I love to hear them. Thank you for dropping in and commenting so nicely, my friend....Peter

Nothing beats watching the wonders of nature, it must be an awesome sight seeing all those parrots in the wild. Have only seen them in a zoo. Tom.

Hi Tom. I spent my growing years in Peckham, London. We only had Sparrows, starlings and Pigeons there. But we have so many varieties of birds here. I adore them. Thank you so much for your kind comments, my friend.....peter

I am dying to know who the pinks are and who the greys are. I picture the pinks as flamingos, and the greys as wrens or blue heron. Am I close? A lovely scene you have poetry-ied up.

Hullo Caren. The actual name is 'Pink and grey Gallahs' They are of the parrot family, and they come into the garden for seed every day. They are a pretty bird with Pink Bellies and grey wings, again very noisy they are. Thank you for your kind comments, my friend....Peter
