The Penny
The humble omnipresent penny
is soon to vanish from our currency.
If a penny or two increases your bill
it’ll be upped to the nearest nickle.
The government claims its economically
sound considering the penny’s ubiquity.
And kids, with sweet tooths especially,
are most of all rebelliously unhappy
claiming that if deprived of penny candy
it’ll be worse than drug withdrawal, frankly!
