The Obituary

Listen to poem:
A pretty tricky rhyme scheme - Early Wednesday morning I was sitting down at Millie’s, taking just a minute - to digest what I’d been fed - When, skimming through some papers, as I waited for a refill - one held news so shocking I was stunned by what I’d read. Obituary sections are, to me, the most important ‘cause I believe it’s wise to stay abreast of who is dead, But this one told a story like I’d never read before…penned by one who knew him well, and this is what it said: Harry was the biggest jerk that I have ever known. He messed up every life he ever touched…I’m glad he’s gone. Without a doubt the biggest pile of bull that ever walked, the kind of lousy scumbag only Lucifer could spawn. Regardless where they bury him, that cemetery’s doomed. His rotting corpse, eventually, will actually kill the lawn. Cremation’s not much safer ‘cause I’ll guarantee you this, he’ll kill the fish in any lake or pond he’s sprinkled on! He often cheated on his wife. He never told the truth. He owes a million people money…some of them a lot. Some who didn’t know his ways felt sorry for the guy, and bought his lines of horse manure, but I, for one, did not. And in my view he’s not been laid to rest…but laid to waste. I only hope that turds as big as him can actually rot. And if they bury Harry, pret’ near every man I know will surely want to take his turn at whizzing on his plot! PS: I've now got 4 new Audio-CDs - @ 4 1/2 hours each = (62 diversely varied pieces).
