The Mystery of Destiny

Destiny, oh destiny, why hide thyself from me. Come out, come out, for all to see. A life filled with struggle, then at last a surprise. Why not reveal now how I self-actualize? Have I no choice of my destination, How I’ll proceed in my maturation? How many ways could there be? Or outcomes to this mystery? More than one, surely a few, Leave some things to chance, it’s the least you should do. I want to have challenges and growth each day, A purposeful life as I travel my way. Life’s surely not over, with just destiny My soul longs to live for eternity.

Strange thing, destiny, it must be the only part of life that you can't predict, and yet, how many times do we say when tragedy strikes someone. That was their destiny.

Thank you for your kind comments, Robert. I agree kids today are not getting the education they need in today's world. The Spirit, the voice inside them is ignored. They're not being taught to appreciate what they're given from God at birth. Many seem too entitled and selfish. Thank you for the FAV, it means alot to me to know you appreciate a poem I've written. Great to have you back active again, my dear friend. Smiles ~ Blessings Bill

I wish we could know our destiny, times are hard and the future looks bleak, if we could have a peek maybe we could find some inner peace. A great sonnet, belated congratulations on receiving the honour of poem of the day… Belle

It hard to see our physical destiny, but through listening to a voice within ourselves we can come to understand our destiny spiritual. The body dies, but our spirit/soul lives eternally. Hope this helps some. Our world is in a terrible mess. :-( Thanks for the visit my friend. Bill

Destiny, mystery, eternity ...worthy thoughts and subjects, indeed. I, too, trust the Universe (Jesus, for me, truth be told) when thoughts on my age, health, and fate look turn South!. But in That phase, poetry is a friend as are the Psalms. Shalom shalom Coach Bill my brother in Christ

i really like this. i feel like our destiny is a maze. It would not matter which turns we made, we would end up with the same after life God already knows is ours. Just how i feel about it.

Bill, this is such an inspiring write, esp. for those of us, ahem, 'over 39.' Self-actualization, the final step on the road to 'Cosmic Consciousness,' is such a worthy goal -- still pushing and pulling to reach it no matter how many 39's we've seen! Bravo on POTD, my Texas pal! Kudos, Gerswhon
