The Lonely Pond
Two hands join and fingers cross
Caterpillars soon emerge from their cocoons, lost
Into skies that were blue, plain and clear
The seasons change quickly when hearts are near
Sunny days brought them to a lonely pond
There they skimmed stones and made little waves till' dawn
They gazed at each other’s reflections, in the ponds idle peace
They swore an oath that their love would never cease
But they soon broke up, staring at the sky
And aloft, the butterflies flutter the change as they cry
