The Lonely Pond

Two hands join and fingers cross Caterpillars soon emerge from their cocoons, lost Into skies that were blue, plain and clear The seasons change quickly when hearts are near Sunny days brought them to a lonely pond There they skimmed stones and made little waves till' dawn They gazed at each other’s reflections, in the ponds idle peace They swore an oath that their love would never cease But they soon broke up, staring at the sky And aloft, the butterflies flutter the change as they cry
