The Happy Circus
THE HAPPY CIRCUS
I am just a one man circus doing all the twists and turns
To entraining crowds, on the turnstiles the money burns
No cruelty to animals here as these animals run the show
With the ape via his own accord does a turn on his banjo
Tigers roam the aisles selling hot popcorn and ice creams
Don’t undercut a buck, it doesn’t do to hear the screams
Llamas all sit along the side-lines, knitting their own wool
With full intentions of making themselves, a big pocketful
Meanwhile I am doing all the acts to make the folks laugh
As I jump through the loops on the circus animals behalf
It is a circus with a difference, but; folks come every year
We are just a happy go lucky lot, who fill folks with cheer
I’m just here now, doing my impersonation of Sitting Bull
Who survives his shooting, so things are never quite dull
It’s all fun and games with no rota as to how the acts roll
Just like when those hyenas greased the circus climb pole
All their snide laughter had the folks howling in the aisles
When all the trapeze artists, came crashing down in piles
The monkeys are picking pockets but, no one ever minds
Getting all your pockets picked is just a sign of the times
But, no one goes home empty-handed, hearts full of glee
Hat's full of the best Madagascar fleas, and all of “em free
The show now over, as the gorilla's lower the big top tent
All getting a sweat on as no one has paid the ground rent
The next new town is awaiting us all just over the horizon
Bringing joy to all others, who's lives we want to brighten
