The Dance

Inspired by the painting "The Singing Butler" by Jack Vettriano. Which shows an actress dancing in a beautiful red dress with a gentleman in black tie. There is a storm and a maid and butler hunch over against the weather holding umbrellas towards the dancing couple who appear unaffected by the weather.
Forgetting the 'who' of who I am I whirl and unfurl with this man Unaffected by the storm It's energy absorbed within my form The power straight posture holds Creates difference between four equal souls Could every step be dictated by Whether you choose to hold your head up high The sun breaks through the leaden clouds Casts copper hues upon the ground We can learn from the sure footed few Maybe it's time for our debut

Brilliant Dilly, I googled the painting and yes you captured it well. I've never tried this form yet. Tom

Thank you Tom. It's a really liberating style as it allows as much drama as the painting requires!

Thank you! I tried it the other way round recently and tried to draw my filigree ship poem. I'm going to give it another try but my first attempt didn't show much promise haha!
