The Alarm

I wasn’t trying to do any harm I just wanted to hear the fire alarm In their run for the door Someone fell on the floor My behavior was below the school’s norm

me thinks you may have thought about pulling the fire alarm when you were a lad. :-)

What a coincidence Bill. Don't know if you have read about my poem, The Peanut Butter Strike. We were 6 friends from Zambia that after we finished our GCE British exams, could not proceed to Matric, unless we went overseas or to Rhodesia, Being new boarders tasks set for us and mine was to run to the classrooms in the dark set off the school alarm and run back before the Sister/nun in charge of us discovered I was missing. Just thought 'ditto' when i read your poem. Hugs, Blessings, Jennifer.

I glad I posted this poem, so that I knew to go back and find "The Peanut Butter Strike". lol You could have mentioned it was from 10/10/2018 :-) but I found it and it was worth the time to read it. What an experience. The things we've done in our lives ... Thank for your comment and the heads up on your poem. Love and blessings my dear friend. Bill

Though you didn't want to do any harm, your behavior naturally must have frightened many. Inadvertent it was, but the act made others panicky !

Bill, it appears that you were rushed. I hope you didn't resist the authorities:)) by sounding the emergency siren,:)) and I can almost imagine you at least pondering this idea. Kindest regards dear friend

LOL...Hahaha. It must have been such a rush... I remember once there was a loud alarm and we though it was a fire so all of us just rushed outside our class....only to find it was coming from a sports function held besides our school...

You rebel on pulling the fire alarm! It must have been a rush. But your line of "My behavior was below the school's norm" there it is.

Thanks for the comment, Sara. I'm sure I wondered what the alarm would sound like, but the beating by my dad kept my curious mind and behavior at bay. :-) Bill
