Thanksgiving According To Turkeys
It’s every farm-fed turkey’s yearly dread –
an ungobbeble holocaust, it’s said
when every steroid injected turkey breast
inflates to unnaturally grotesque.
And, please, don’t mention Lincoln’s name,
to every turkey a man of infamy and shame.
For though he emancipated many slaves,
for which they applaud and praise,
yet he decreed the darkest day for turkeys
by sending millions to their yearly gravies.
