Thank You Kindly

I just read a beautiful series of thankful poems by Jim Yerman and am inspired to give it a go. I'm so thankful when I cast a thought (For I'm a one for being overwrought) To all the love I have around As love I needed and love I found I'm grateful too for distractions To be absorbed within abstractions For my attention to wander too So much joy brought into view Appreciating honesty (also gets me worked up) An authentic soul though really fills my cup A genuine affection on display The straight up reals each and every day I'm adoring of the sunshine The way it makes a day feel fine Possibilities seem so much more in reach Whether sat in the office or at the beach I'd like to express my gratitude For the friends I have accrued Integrity, beautiful and fun The friendship lottery I have won I'm sad my current mindset makes me falter Getting waylaid by what needs to alter I'm going to wake up and appreciate The time is now, it's not yet too late So thank you Jim, I'll give you your dues Gratitude needs to be front page news I'm starting now will continue tomorrow A poet with a brand new show (maybe, probs, definitely)
