Stoicism

Stoicism I consider here now as I rest I can declare proudly that I did my best As I always tried hard to pass the test Kept objectional thoughts close to my chest Didn't go off track from a path that's blessed Made every stranger a welcome guest Decided never to get myself too stressed With graft any problem can be addressed Calmly delivered opinions can be expressed Endurance of burden is not being oppressed Just ability to detach being possessed Self control is the stoics life vest Respect in stoicism I don't wish to divest Though at the end, when all is confessed I'm not sure I believed in what I'd manifest That cool response meant nothing was processed Felt guilty if anything smacked of self interest So maybe it's now time that I do attest That getting help if you need it is a noble quest Please do so yourself at my behest Don't squash feelings down, no good suppressed Later you'll find a hornets nest Listen: to look after yourself is to really invest
