Shame of mankind

I always ask one question
What is this ugliness?
That makes man cause so much destruction
I really must confess
That it puzzles me to see the way
We humans treat this planet
Doing things so blatantly
That one day we’ll regret.

We fill the air with countless poisons
As we do the oceans too
Chop down trees, relentlessly
Don’t we see what we do?
We really must have oxygen
And all the other stuff
No matter how much wealth one has
It’s really not enough.

Money comes in rather handy
When the planet Earth is here
But when it’s dead what good is money
To me it seems quite clear
That the world is filled with lunatics
Destroying as they go
When will the wind of truth touch them?
I really do not know.

Peter, your poem answers your own question: "That the world is filled with lunatics Destroying as they go". The lunatics are taking over, my friend, so stay safe.Sit in the sun and relax. It may be over soon for all of us as we have lunatics running things too.

Hi Caren, you are so right, this world has most definitely been taken over by Nut cases. they make me mad most of the time, but then again one can only feel sympathy for these lunatics. Thank you for your comments, my friend...Peter
