billions of atoms go eye to eye,
staring long enough for cellular renewal
but not a change of heart ~
with its septillions of atoms.
I'm disappearing.
missing crucial elements:
colour drained,
to fill the backdrop more than me.
I become just an object with a story.
this loss of identity is why I glare,
but I dare not reverse out of the frame ~
even when my throat is cut.
static, staring, still,
body severed from brain,
its octillion atoms left behind
as residual anger,
a reflection of conversation,
a dissipation into nothing:
nothing more than a rattle in a tin can.
