billions of atoms go eye to eye, staring long enough for cellular renewal but not a change of heart ~ with its septillions of atoms. I'm disappearing. missing crucial elements: colour drained, to fill the backdrop more than me. I become just an object with a story. this loss of identity is why I glare, but I dare not reverse out of the frame ~ even when my throat is cut. static, staring, still, body severed from brain, its octillion atoms left behind as residual anger, a reflection of conversation, a dissipation into nothing: nothing more than a rattle in a tin can.

“ i become just an object with a story” that line stood out for me amongst many other lines! This is another one of your very deeply moving and profound interpretations of art which really is impressive! As everytime i read your work im like, how did you come up with something so deep for a piece of art . Surely inspires me to see beyond colors. I love the ending too! And how you’ve written “ static, staring, still, body severed from brain“ seamless alliterations! Ah looks like its another FAV. Nailed it, pleasure always reading your work

What a review :) maybe I'll do a ekphrasis contest as my next one and invite to poets to truly get under the paint and in the frame. Thank you for these addictive faves - I'll need weaning off them gently I think lol

Ok, your ability to land a poem when it's little more than a prop plane in a tailspin with both engines ablaze is BEYOND commendable. I cannot write a twist resolution as well as you no matter how hard I try, but for the love of all that is, please scan me a ticket to this ride so I stay convinced there's a poetic parachute at the end. The real meat of this piece starts with, "static, staring, still". Push from there and see where it goes :*

Drill sergeant - you telling me I need to drop and give another 20 (minutes)? Just when I thought I was done :) I was all happy getting this off my chest, then you turn up and remind me I've only done half the work - it's for the greater good I know... What's that you keep repeating? Ahh yes - concrete details, finish it... This advice needs crafting into a military cadence - "I don't know but I've been told, not getting to the point is mighty old, give the audience a chance by letting them in, tell it like it is for the win" (thank you! I'll try)
