Prepared

Take care of yesterday Packed in suitcases As brick by brick Simultaneously the world rises and falls I'm all unpacked Picking over bits Locks unpicked Heaviness stripped out As comparison drives a devil through Screeching incomprehensible sentences ending with you, you, you So guilt stacks up Teeth grind And I'm found and fine and fighting til another day When I might make sense or throw it all away Because suitcases are the wrong shape for carrying Just stackable, wall like Inoperable, openable then Content, contents Lack of point to keeping all that unknown stuff Just in case the unknowable occurs As I knew it would And I am all ready For persecution Neat.

The unknowable will always occur Dilly, no matter how well we think we’ve prepared, of course we all need security in life for our everyday needs, but try get too far ahead of ourselves, that’s when all the imponderables and (would be invariables) tend to collapse! Thats my take on this super little piece and on life in general, cheers David

Thank you David, there will always be too much to think about and I really like to pull it out of the bag at the last minute which I'm sure is probably harder than planning. I do like being resourceful though - the main thing that gets me on edge is asking me to plan :)

An interesting poem of being ready for what, no one knows. I have been in that place many times. This is superb imagery in a poem of practicality.

Thank you Hilda, sometimes words like these tumble out and there's just something I like about them. Thanks for commenting x
