PREPARE FOR WORST HOPE FOR BEST

The crops are in; our larders now are full So we’re prepared for hard times once again When flow of living sap then falls to null. We are well stocked with several sacks of grain And other food resources plentiful, Stored safely well away from snow and rain. One more winter we’re ready to endure. With ample rations we now feel secure. We wait to hear ‘kra-kra’ sound from on high And then we know that spring is on its way As breeding pairs of carrion crows there cry. Our spirit raised as soon there ends the grey And once again we’ll enjoy bright blue sky Knowing that it’s the end of winter’s day. Soon we make plans for crops we’ll be planting When the sap begins to flow, come the spring.

Sadly my grandkids live far from here. In warmer climes on the south coast. The snowman. Saw a rather fat one yesterday but the thaw came today. Now he's but a small slump of grey. At least the snow has gone - for now. Tony
