Permission To Kick Me Aside
I smile when I think of the energy I had back then.
Remember those times we'd walk til who knows when?
I've been there for comfort, support, every step of the way.
Happy to accompany you on any given day.
I lasted longer than I thought, but my oomph has run out.
I feel worn and no longer able to go trekking about.
I wish it weren't true. It's not something I choose.
I'm sorry to say, but I can no longer be your favorite pair of shoes.
