Morning Fog Leaning Sunlight

__________________________________________________ Morning sunlight births a perfect day Crying down the hall.. our baby wakes.. Fog slowly fades to a pristine picture Mt. Hood stands in silhouette The smell of breakfast rises Leaning upon the sill, I gaze through the picture book of hope My mind invites colored prisms and the dainty flowers I watch our Golden Labrador leap down the grassy slope Reminiscing upon our dreams, I pray to the infinite powers sunlight slowly climbs soft pastel pink folds glisten stealth honey bees race as I climb the old ladder to cradle a cherry bloom __________________________________________________ August 14, 2016 Contest: It Takes Four Sponsor: Broken Wings Written with the four forms listed below and in this order (not optional) Crystalline - 2 lines of 8/9 syllables or 9/8 syllables, unrhymed Kimo - 3 lines 10/7/6 syllables, unrhymed Quatrain - 4 lines, line 2 and 4 rhyme, lines with similar number of syllables Tanka - 5 lines, 5/7/5/7/7 syllables, unrhymed. I love how you interwove the lyrical nature observations with the everyday experiences of baby, dog, breakfast. Mt Hood is glorious - it must be such an inspiration to begin the day with the mountain in view.
