Listen to poem:
light and dark are swallowed up I watch it play out total and utter control how can something so monstrous be so beautiful? absence of malice or kindness when crashing you on rocks or cradling you in serenity disappearing here is an option my mind is already leaving body gently crushed to be free of burden divine means many things every judgement rests as far away as the lights on the horizon the dead of night everything rolls on without witness just the few experiencing these hours power ~ so palpable ~ I'll capture it become diffused ends and beginnings aren't a notion... mellow as we reassemble no disruption eyes half closed body in sweet exhaustion giving in to rest as the night plays on 'til morning kisses your face to remind you it was real

First, I’ll match David’s and Rose’s Fav and raise you a surfer’s “COWABUNGA!” Second, I only now just realized you use numbers “1” instead of letters “l” in your pen name, Di11y Da11y. Now I see why. This poem is Number 1 in my book. :-)

Haha that's my first cowabunga, thank you :) yes, I changed it a long time ago to check if the original version was still searchable (it was) but then quite liked it. It also makes it easier to find when someone uses one of my poems and credits me (but doesn't ask). So pleased you like it! Thanks for the enthused comment :)

Stunning painting and interpretation Dilly, softy spoken yet loses none of its power or palpability, I’m surprised this one hasn’t received many comments (yet) except one from Rose, who is genuinely blown away by the quality of content, as indeed I am, and will fave accordingly, Absence/Everything is captured here in wonderful balance, cheers David

Thank you David, I'm thrilled to get such a positive comment and will happily let it make up for the fact that this one will likely fall into the abyss. I do so enjoy when I disappear briefly into a poem when I'm writing it. Thanks for the fave :)
