Miracles of childhood

I for one recall as a child heathen, gazing up into cloud-filled sky
From hopeful questioning of Heaven, I couldn't turn a blind eye

Almost everything seems to be a Miracle in a child's day
Until we grow older and Mysteries get explained away

Twinkle twinkle little star, how I wondered what you are
Then we're taught what a star is made of, and how far

School teaches oodles of facts from the world of Science
As well as instilling useful methods for smart self-reliance

The Truth is, just because a thing can be described by Science
Doesn't mean it's held together without God's wise Compliance

And to hope against Hope, if we are open to child-like Faith
The possibility of miracles won't all disappear as some wraith

For even if we figure out what are the ordinary laws of Nature
The extraordinary can't be denied by scientific nomenclature

From undeserved forgiveness, to phenomenon, or a sudden cure
More things are wrought by Prayer-- of this, the world can be sure

That is a wonderful attitude to have, David, counting our blessings in the form of miracles, which leads to thinking of all the great things God has done for us, focusing on His goodness & mercy -- which is where miracles come from! God loves you! Thanks 4 reading my poem, have a good day!

Thank you! After all, "Miracles are for those who believe." ~ written by international poet Carol Connell. :) And although sometimes it's hard for God to step in when someone closes the door to grace, perhaps sometimes it seems that a miracle is the key that opens up a heart to seeing beyond the face-value of existence, and entering the Mystery of being loved by Him :)
