Malcom’s will, now duly signed
and notarized, has lovingly consigned
his faithful, cherished basset hound
to a five-star kennel in an upscale town
for perpetual care and stud service,
and the kennel duly given notice.
The news, when told, had no effect
on the hound, not even a sound.
As for Malcolm, now he’d have found
that thrilling as a future prospect.
