Stand where you want to You'll be drawn in Picture yourself, choose a spot The joy of life is to undulate with freedom with others to form poetic music The scene is set All that is required is to step into it There's temptation, invitation, inevitability Be playful under the shade of the tree Contrast with the muted colours of the backdrop Follow the footsteps, find the flowers Allow yourself to be guided For no fruits are forbidden This is no garden, this is the land of the plenty The longer you are here, the more the palette will become your hue Lingering at long last at the moment before it all teeters over the edge Your gaze is never skywards but Earthbound There is space here, occupy it

Thanks Vickey - it's for a contest, it's a lot of fun to get absorbed into paintings and certainly a break from my own content. Also if I had content like this I might not have the guts to write about it (or I'd be too busy perhaps reciting it live whilst playing a lute haha)

You are certainly right about one’s gaze not being drawn towards the sky Dilly, yes there is a lot going on, and your description matches the painting quite faultlessly, would Sister Wendy Beckett approve, yes I really do think so, I enjoyed your expert interpretation, cheers David

She really was a class act, when it came to art interpretation; yeah I suppose that would depend how long you sat there for lol!

Haha she was great! I just hope no one sat behind me in the gallery at swimming lessons noticed me zooming in on bits of the painting :)
