Leaves are still green; days are still warm. It’s all about to end. Summer’s holding its breath. When it breathes out again, it will, at last, be autumn.

So nicely penned, Sara. I like the personification of summer on a breath hold. The nod to seasonal turnover also reinforces the flow of time. An enjoyable read. Cheers, Brian

Ah your words are always soul warming beautiful Sara, so gorgeous and flows seamlessly and the way you phrase things are so unique and artistic: I especially love “ summers holding its breath” That line blew me away, what a creative and visceral line showing how summer is fleeting. And then how you wrote “ when it breathes out again, it will be autumn” i feel this way about time always, how quickly time flies. Its just sad. Sometimes. Amazing and moving write as always

Hi "Ink"--thank you for your soulful comments about my September Days. I'm grateful for your reaction and response. I agree with you about time. The quickness of its flow is sad sometimes. Just this morning I realized that October is on the horizon. I felt twinges of sadness when I thought of it. Can't explain why. I just let the feeling wash over me and accepted it, trying not to dwell on it. May you have a beautiful, bountiful day.

We are coming to the fag end of September when leaves are still green. But in no time autumn will bring the magic of colors. As summer will hold its breath, days will no more be warm. Sara, enjoyed your beautiful poem on the transition between summer and autumn.

thanks for stopping by, Valsa. Yes, summer's on it's last gasp of air even here in North Texas. The leaves here are green but wilted from the hot, dry summer. We're ready for fall...I appreciate your kind words. Have a pleasant day, Sara
