If you only knew

If I could live again, what lessons would I take? Forevers missing something, repeating a mistake Yell into the void, hoping sage advice returns Only an echo chamber, ensuring no one learns Undo all my wasted time, rid me of regret Over all the lives I've lived, I haven't lived one yet Never truly taste contentment, it's just out of reach Lullaby thyself to sleep, is the lesson that I'd teach Years I take to master, the art of second sight Knowing if I see too much, nothing will feel right Now is the time, don't waste another day Every concentric circle evaporates you away Whatever way I weigh it up, I always seem to pay

Dear dd , your poems are always so sincere and flows with such depth! I really loved this acrostic and also especially “ Over all the lives I've lived, I haven't lived one yet Never truly taste contentment, it's just out of reach ” that hits so strong and deep! Thank you so much Ink, it's all tongue in cheek of course and more about the hidden purpose of generation after generation, if indeed there is one. I'm sitting quite pretty in this life, so hopefully I don't give the wrong impression with my musings. It is a thought provoking contest prompt and so funny it's generated POTD for 4 days running now :) thank you for your kind words, always appreciated

(Clapping) YAY! SOL—Congratulation’s on POTD DD! Nice to see your work, all deserving. A great mind! The acrostic guides the poet along with a head start, I too now fond of, except when too short like May or Life, lol. Your precious thoughts work any form, the realness, real-life ripples in still waters you’ve expressed often “Undo all my wasted time, rid me of regret” it would seem 'unfair' to begin again with a clean slate yet no memories of a previous life, we're on our own, ha. Enjoy the great honour ;)
