I never write love poems
So don't think that I will start
This is not a love poem
It's the contents of my heart

Do you know, I think about you
Every minute, every day?
Do you know that I cease to exist
When you have gone away?

For how can I exist if I
Am just an empty shell?
As you say goodbye you take
My heart and soul as well

When you are gone I'm marking time
Just waiting here for you
With memories of what you've said
Helping me get through

I close my eyes and feel your touch
As if you're here with me
So real that when I open them
I'm sure it's you I'll see

When you return at last, I know
That my life can restart
For with you, you are carrying
Your love, my soul, my heart

No, I just don't write love poems
It is something I don't do
But in this poem I hope you'll see
The love I have for you
