Hymn to Angerona
Creation never knew a soul more kind
Than the one that within this verse finds praise.
To any eyes that upon these lines gaze,
Beauty’s true form shall now be called to mind.
During times of sorrow, one will not find
A more caring woman during their days
Of suffering; and despairing in ways
That they wish could somehow be left behind.
As Romans praised her most highly, she kept
Their sacred name alive throughout the land—
Never to speak of it during the fight.
Giving comfort to each man as he wept,
She soon silenced them with her healing hand—
Throughout time, may her image still shine bright.
