Graffiti

I shall declare my presence, don't trample on me or scrub me out no more, I exist.* Graffiti Poetry Contest Edit added after judging to add clarity *Voice of the underclass à la 1980s inner city graffiti, which varied from tagging to political expression from people who found it difficult to feel seen and heard. Graffiti is now often admired as an art form, then it felt very much a dangerous sub culture. Existing at a time when similar types of artistic expression were heard through the punk music and fashion scene.

I appreciate the update of the notes. I remember the inner-city graffiti here as well. The voice of the voiceless. A powerful write, DD.

It wasn't a personification of the wall though, it was the voice of the underclass

Thanks Paul, I grew up in a poor area so felt there was this element around but perhaps mixed with futility (which I left out of the line). People wanting to leave their mark and having very few options. It's much more about art these days I think. Thanks for checking it out and your encouraging words
