Reduction Print picture also by poet
The filigree ship sails on the dreams ocean Ethereal waves, celestial motion The sea faring souls safely inside As the silver toned vessel fervently glides The achromatic expanse of sail, sky and sea Tugs at my grasp as I immerse in de corps esprit The filigree foam fills each filigree swirl Beautifully destroying my shadowy world The choice is to wake from this leaden grey trip But my heart longs to silently sink with the ship

Thanks H, I think this is my most poemy poem! I even made a reduction print of it but as I'm not a premium member I can't upload pictures haha. Oh, can't believe I forgot - I did the picture through a class at work and the poem and picture were chosen to go on display. I should really check that out! Those last lines are quite strong. Thanks for your kind words

Very poignant Dilly with such vivid and vibrant imaginative images. You have woven such melancholy into the last line and juxtaposed a wonderful contrast between the "safe and sound" passengers and this last line. Congratulations on your win. Blessings for your daily voyage.

Thank you so much for your comment Sam. The safety of the dream contrasted with the reality of waking. :)

Thanks Jo, I was stuck for inspiration so googled filigree art and a filigree ship came up and I took it from there knowing it was beautiful but never seaworthy! I'm still thinking about some of the poetic license I've used in this one - I'm not sure if the expression of esprit de corps can be switched around :)
