Eye Rhyme

What have you gone and done? All I gave forgotten, forge on alone Born and then torn apart again Navigation of ornamental pain How, knowing this do I go on? It cannot be that all hope is gone Tacking taking towards winding wind If you drag me down, my rage will be in tow I'll snap tethers with my teeth Sail to the dream realm seething How, knowing this do I go on? It cannot be that all hope is gone Danger tangles, rigid torment teeters Strong storm a force to evoke reckoning Banish thoughts they wreak havoc Anchor doubt to the solid ocean bed How, knowing this do I go on? It cannot be that all hope is gone Angels change angle, freer of sea faring Angst released I don't relish fearing Optic entices what eyes seldom see here Audibly educated to capture all the sea hears In my resting place I still wrestle with peace But I did not wither with either life or death

I thought the repetition of these words was effective: How, knowing this do I go on Is all hope gone. Each time I read it, I paused letting the words above it soak in. Like Hilda, I was delighted with the ending. Enjoy the remainder of your weekend, Sara

Thank you Sara, I was carried away trying to do the sight rhymes but afterwards on a re-read I'm hoping I can rework some. It's nice to hear what bits worked as it's impossible to tell when you've written it sometimes, hopefully when I come back to it

I'm very thrilled for the happy ending. Evolution is not conducive to Peace. Thank you for another terrific poem. I wait in anticipation.
