Dreaming

I'm very much a dreamer Failing to notice as dreams come true Right now I listen to guitar music Beautifully playing in my home Alongside the sounds of my children playing I've wished for sophistication When I should have wished for company that didn't make me feel uncultured I have found them in abundance But mostly fail to notice I wished for uninterrupted peace From my start in a noisy place Where bullies ruled and taunted Now I sit quietly and trust no one will harm me My unrealised dream is to count my blessings The wonderful people I surround myself with The respect I've earned and is granted And the peace available to me Dreaming Poetry Contest 28th May 2023 Sponsored by: Regina McIntosh

Slide very easily into this dreaming sequence, candid, full of spontaneity but with that usual touch of sadness. Like this poem DD. The sound of guitar music blended with the sounds of children playing...rather gorgeous.
