The inspiration for this double tanka poem came to me in the pre-dawn hours

when I observed a crescent moon hanging over our house. I

imagined hubby and I slipping into the keyhole after we pass,

always together and disappearing for eternity

the crescent moon shines magic keyhole in night sky the stars beckon us we escape through the keyhole at last, untethered and free
&&&&
the galaxies and stars greet us as we travel by cosmic dancers swirl silver sequins in the night guide us to eternity

So beautiful in its creativity, Sara with twirling "cosmic dancers," and a "magic key hole" - a portal to transport you into a new universe. This is so unique and beautifully articulated! Wonderful images - a ride into mystic wonder and the mystical. Blessings for your journey.

This is simply gorgeous Sara. The poem and the picture go so well together. I love the night sky and gazing up and your beautiful poem captured so much that the night sky has to offer. This is such a dreamy read- captivating! The last two lines, in particular, are as stunning as the night sky. Really enjoyed this gentle, romantic ,hopeful poem. Thank you for sharing.Wishing you both a blessed week. X

Dear Sara, this poem is so beautifully carved with the most beautiful hue of love and the inspiration behind these two tankas, as you described, is equally heartwarming.. To be able to escape for eternity into the celestial eden with your loved one.. So mesmerizing. "The stars beckon us, we escape through the keyhole", "the galaxy and stars greet us", " Cosmic dancers swirl" Absolutely gorgeous :) have a beautiful day, loved reading this!
