Creative Communication 2

Poets, writers, artists, and photographers share a similar challenge; we all constantly must deal with getting the perfect exposure---that balance of light and darkness that creates harmony and clarity in our presentation. Ambiguity is brought into focus, transformed into understanding, or even internalized by correctly contrasting the dark and light colors or sides of our presentation. When thinking about the necessity of dualities in a poem, a story, a painting, or a photograph; I can’t help but think of the necessity of loneliness to fully feel love, the feelings of rejection and defeat needed to properly appreciate success, or the presence of clearly stated detail to bring focus, purpose, and clarity to our work. I ask myself and you: what good is it to write a poem, an article, paint a picture, or take a photograph, if all we do is create a piece of work that is filled with ambiguity, vagueness, and illegitimacy? Instead, we must hone our skills, persevere, and create that which --- when observed or read by our audience--- is focused, clear, and an authentic revelation of our thoughts, feelings, and awareness of our subject. Let’s make sure our audiences are neither blinded by the light nor left in the darkness; but instead, allow them to experience a sense of true communication.

This is why we HAVE to do it " an authentic revelation of our thoughts, feelings, and awareness of our subject." Anyway, for me.

Wow! I really like your profound analysis of a writer's task, of his duty to his audience, Bill. Maybe I can take your words to heart and improve my poems. Thank you, sir! :) gw

I need to do the same. The draw of humor pulls me away from my more mindful thoughts from time to time. I just have to figure out how to balance all I want to say and how and what form to say it in. Thanks for the comments, Gershon. Bill

Bill, your poetry is fantastic. Indeed, as writers, we must enhance our abilities and employ our gifts for better communication. It tempts the reader to consider, inspire, and imagine in alternative ways.

Right! As writers we must hone our skills and use our gifts for better communication. I don't want to be sloppy in what I write; I don't want to waste the gift of words by communicating truthfully, sensibly and with sensitivity. Well done!

Hi Bill. True communication, indeed. Poetry has many nuances. The question for me, is always the same! Or..,for me..do not intellectualize, Pangie. Do not play, I have control of truth. I only know...what I know. Being real, not walking in the clouds like a god, is commandment one for me. Good job, my man. Pangie

I agree we only have our truth, each has their own way, their own path, their own truth. Much is the same for many, but some is meant only for a few. Thank you for reading and commenting on my poetry. Peace be with you, may Truth embrace you, Bill
