We cannot justify sin by our emotions. God wants us to work out our situations, by means of His Word and how it appropriately applies. Just beacuse something is marginalized that does not justify sin. In this poem two wrongs don't make a right no matter how good it feels. God has called us to honor Him with our minds: Mark 12:30 "love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your MIND, and all your strength". This poem is a confession of sin. Lord grant me repentance and victory, in Your name, Amen.

A QUIET RETREAT-PART ONE I retreated to the edge of Maine, To a beachside estate where thoughts remain Unsettled, swirling with cloud and tide— A love poem’s seed buried deep inside. A heart that longs, a mind at war, For she I love loves me more— She is bound to another, so the battle stays Confined to my thoughts, in tangled ways. How to confess this yearning flame, Without wreck or ruin, without shame? Along the shore I pace and muse, Rhyming verses, the ocean can't choose. The Song of Songs whispers through salt and wind— "Thou hast ravished my heart," it sweetly grinned. How fair is thy love, sings the ancient text, And I, with longing, am gently vexed. Returning home with sand-swept feet, WHAT A PLEASANT SURPISE-PART TWO A knock—surprise—my heart skips a beat! Jenny arrives, escaping her storm, Seeking solace, a change from the norm. We sip on wine, exchange our tales, Her world unraveling, her spirit frail. The night descends, we rest apart, MOONLIGHT GIVES WAY TO LIGHT-PART THREE But morning finds us with lighter hearts. Breakfast shared in simple grace, She proposes a walk, a gentle pace. We stroll the beach, waves and sun, She speaks of love, of finding one— "A man like you," she softly states, "To grow together, twist our fates." A line I borrow for my rhyme, I recite to her to cajole her mind. She dances in water, then leaps with pain— A jellyfish sting, a sudden bane. “Quick, you must help, no time for pride!” Desperate measures as modesty died. Watching you to my delectation, (Is eeing-pay on a jellyfish sting fiction?) TWO BECOME ONE AND FLOURISH AS TWO-PART FOUR Night returns with thunder’s might, She whispers at my door, late at night: “Can’t shake the thought, it’s stuck in my mind— The ize-say of you—brings ighs-say of delight” I offer comfort from the cantankerous storm outside But can't when our undulating bodies writhe MIDNIGHT STORM-PART FIVE Lightning reveals what words conceal, Desire pent up, now deeply real. We toss and turn, moan and yearn, Thunder crashed and lightning flashed, Shadows danced as curtains thrashed. A glimpse—her body, bare and bright, Desire awakened in the storm’s pale light. MORNING REALIZATION-CONCLUSION At breakfast we shared a gentle embrace, Lips meeting softly without care or haste. She laughed, “So that’s what I’ve missed all these years?” A morning revelation, dissolving old fears. Unbrushed and honest, in vulnerable light, We savored the sweetness of passion’s first night.
