Butterflies In December
With a northeastern wind
here they come
there they go
Fluttering by bringing colours of maroon and gold to a world so cold
See how they flock to the Evergreen tree
in a dance graceful yet wild
with the intent to feed
the need
and breed
Such sad devotion
these creatures of unified thought
dare not deviate
this one tried, but lays here dying
wings frozen
still they flutter on
battered by the icy wind
Why take flight in this season of death
speak, tell me with your dying breath
Was it the dream of Evergreen
Stillness
Let me take you there
live if you can
die if you will
