Best Time of Year
Chilly breeze
Rustling the trees
Ominous feeling in the air
Turn back, or beware
Silent ringing in my ear
Quickly rising my fear
Every year on this day
I celebrate anyway
My cowardice is suppressed
This I confess
To live in the moment
This is my element
Concentrating on
Decorating,
Riding around town,
Ghosts, skeletons, and clowns
Haunted house,
With my spouse
Halloween parties,
I won’t be tardy
Costumes galore,
Going door to door
Trick-R-treating,
With every greeting
Horror movie nights,
Giving me a fright
The best time of the year
Don’t interfere
Something I look forward to
And always overdue
