Barking Dogs

The dogs are barking in the backyard I better check to see what’s wrong Now they’re quiet, must have been nothing Or could be that dead snake, on the patio

I was wondering also if the dogs could have been bitten and were dying. hopefully that would not have happened. I enjoyed this poem, Bill.

Nope, the dog won this battle. We don't get the snakes very often here in town. Thanks for the concern for the dogs though, very mindful. Hugs, Bill

Dogs are quick in alerting dangers. Once I remember our dog has been barking continuous in the middle of the night. It was something unusual ! My first thought was about thieves. But the dog was barking in the direction of our bird cage. In the light, we saw a cobra had got into the cage and was swallowing the birds. By the time we looked for a cane to kill it, it escaped. Thanks for sharing your experience

Snakes are my most feared and unfortunately, reality in my life. Our dogs have alerted us to their presence on occasions. Snakes me the shivers as we have a lot of poisonous ones ins South Africa. A very relatable write and enjoyable my friend Bill and blessings Jennifer

Hi Bill, I liked the way you wrote this one. Usually, when a dog is barking, it could be all sorts of things. But one shouldn’t take it lightly, because they could be alerting one of danger. I enjoyed the read. Have a nice day:-) Alexis
