I'm so glad they do not function here in the UK like they used to in the past. Have a lovely day.

Stern imagery so well stated in dispassionate poetry presents this tragic existence with harrowing authenticity. Well done. Congratulations on your placement.

I chose the topic of Asylums as part of my studies. They were very grim from what I discovered during my research. However I have darkened the contents slightly for the purpose of this contest. Thank you for reading, and taking the time to comment. :-)

I'm back to say congratulations on the win Joanna! Terrible reputation here in the States too. I had occasion to visit a few in Texas as a university student. More than depressing, degrading, inhumane, and deplorable. Linda

I am fascinated by asylums and the old methods and techniques used. Thankfully mental health has come a long way. Thank you for your comment.

Vivid picture Joanna. If we only knew what goes on behind closed doors. I like to believe the majority are good, caring facilities...but then, there's the one you hear about. I enjoyed this ve much! Linda

Years ago Asylums had terrible reputations. Mental health treatment facilities have come on alot here in the UK. I studied mental health, I was fascinated in the history of the Asylums, that was where I got the inspiration to write this. :-) Thank you for taking the time to read it. X
