Allotment days

Pears and buttercups Strawberries, thyme & weeds Fennel, lilies, rocket too Fat chubby chunky swedes Yarrow, lovage, mint & vine Raspberries, parsley & kale These are all the wonders of Allotment days of mine Warm wooden shed Wet cup of tea Birds tweeting on the hedge Saying hello to me Some pesky snails and woodlice Too chilled to really care Chatting to my neighbours Our bottoms in the air The soil between my fingers The joy of growing and sowing I’m glad there is no lawn right here Cuts back on all the mowing A Strand (1058) poetry contest Sponsor Brian Strand 24th January 2022

I know, that’s an interesting thought, but then they wouldn’t be weeds would they i suppose? I’ve often thought we are missing something though somewhere, like these weeds might be the cure to so much,hence the big nudge nudge, hello I’m here.....hahahahaha
