A Sailor's Moon

I see you, says the moon,
drowning in self
by the water’s edge.

But what if.....?

Stay
by the shoreline.
I will lay an ocean banquet
of magical moonlight
to tempt your dusty heart,
opal spells
to break your fear.

I will send good morning kisses
in the twilight,
and wonder
on the wind.

So arise
from yesterday’s shadows,
and together we’ll shine brightly...

For I am a sailor’s moon,
and now, the journey starts.

Haha, could you not just have assembled some gorgeous verse and just ended it with ner ni ner ni ner ner just to mess with people’s minds?! ;-)

Back to say congrats on your well-deserved win! ;) I really, really wanted to use your "Ner ni ner ni ner ner" (or "Do not even so much as look at me"), but couldn't figure how to work it into my chosen theme!!

I can't stand it! My brain seems incapable of performing the task as required by this contest yet here you are, not only capably able but putting together lines as smooth as silk for a complete poem of beauty and meaning. Please tell me this took you a long time and that you had to concentrate, use a lot of paper, there were loads of pen scratches - give me something. Great effort! All the best ... CayCay

Ps do you know how long it took to look through Caren’s list and find a nice quiet title that wouldn’t dance and sing all over my poem?! She doesn’t do bland titles lol! And PPS thank you!

Haha oh no, I used an iPad so I could constantly rearrange things! And yes it did take quite a while but I deliberately picked popular themes - everyone has a poem about the moon, the sea or new beginnings right?
