The tiny seed knew that in order to grow it need to be dropped in the ...

In our souls lie all the seeds, Waiting patiently to meet our needs. Soulfully waiting for us to choose, For us to use or abuse. We plant our seeds in our garden of life, The seeds we choose will bring joy and strife. Many we’ll plant, but all will not flourish, Much depends on how much we nourish. Some that are planted will wither away, Others will grow stronger day after day. Some that have withered for seemingly no reason, Were just simply planted in the wrong season. When planting your garden; Ask what will I see? If this garden I plant turns out to be me. Then look all around at others the collective we, For therein lies a reflection of thee. What we see in others is the full-grown seeds, Good and bad, both our wants and our needs. It’s the characteristics, the best and the least, That when fully grown show our angel or beast. We won’t always plant the seeds that are right, When looking inside we have limited sight. Our souls attract others to whom we relate, To help us grow either toward Love or hate. The good seed in others, the things we admire, We should soulfully nurture and make our desire. The bad traits in others can grow also in us, We must uproot these quickly like greed or lust. Easier seen in others than seen in me, Or the things I want or don’t want to be. As I travel my quest to set my soul free, I pray that my choices are pleasing to Thee. Oh, great Creator of all I can see, Thank you for giving awareness to me. For selfish and judging I don’t want to be, But loving and compassionate like unto to Thee.

Most of my inspiration to write meaningful poetry is indeed from my reading from scripture, my brother. Blessings for the weekend, my friend. Bill

The last line says it all. What we should want to be, but definitely mostly are not. Traits we see in others that we judge is usually on display within our own selves. If we read our Bible and ask God to reveal the truth to us, He will do so. Each day we can learn something new from a Book we thought we knew. Thanks for sharing this one and reminding us that we all need to grow and change. Sara K

Your poems are so inspirational Bill, reflections of a contemplative mind! Our heart is the soil where seeds are sown. We can plant good seeds and bad seeds. The choice is important. Just sowing good seeds alone is not enough. We have to nurture them with utmost care. We should also look at others' gardens and see how good seeds are taken care of by them. Great thoughts dear Bill.

My dear Bill, this is so envolving. You chose the right words so easily to rhyme life, feelings and the easiest way to live our life. We grow what we want to eat, we grow what we want to be. I loved the end "For selfish and judging I don’t want to be, But loving and compassionate like unto to Thee" but of course all the poem from the begining is amazing. This is Fav for me. Thank you my Texan friend for giving us so much inspiration. Love/ María

This "appealing" poem, sets the "call to self awareness" to monitor, tend to, grow upwards our better nature's, despite the invasive quality of our self destructiveness. My mother used to spend 30 minutes a day pulling out 100 weeds on a large property. Takes time to make our garden flourish. I loved this poem. Fav. Have a Beautiful Day, Bill-you deserve it! Dear Bill, your poem beautifully encapsulates the journey of self-discovery and growth, using the metaphor of planting seeds in the garden of life. Your words reflect the truth that our actions, choices, and interactions with others shape the landscape of our souls. I love the imagery of nurturing the good seeds and uprooting the bad, the importance of self-awareness and spiritual growth. May your quest to set your soul free lead you to a place of love, compassion, and spiritual alignment. Blessings, Daniel

Thank you, Daniel, for your soulful comments. I'm generally very positive about life and the experience we all have on our path. I personally believe all things happen for a good reason and the secret to a successful life is to find what good can come from each of our experiences. Sometimes that one good thing may be well hidden beneath many perceived (bad things). If you want to find gold, you have to dig deep. The shallow stuff is for shallow people that have found their way yet. They'll have their chance; we all have different timetables on what's being done with our life here on Earth.

Thanks for your insights, Jerry. I've always had this thought in my mind, that we all face the same level of challenges in our lives, we're all being completed into what we were created to be. The experiences and challenges seem different because each of us are uniquely different and have a unique plan for our life. Just rambling thoughts, my friend. Thanks for the comments and friendship, Jerry. Have a pleasant weekend! Bill

This poem is a captivating masterpiece, brilliantly created!!* I loved what you did with the 'seed metaphor.' Such wisdom and insight in each verse. I especially liked the advice in these lines:: The good seed in others, the things we admire, We should soulfully nurture and make our desire. The bad traits in others can grow also in us, We must uproot these quickly like greed or lust. I appreciate your gratitude in the last verse. Wish I could fave this one, but it's a fave in my book as are you!
