The Sacred Crag

... stands sentry-like. Its steely stone permanence guarding the underworld, below and beyond. A fault line cuts a cleft deep into the darkness. From within, come echoes of chilling mantras as sacred water spirits stir in a vast cranium of afterlife from the ancient world. At the watery cleft the Celts make offerings to pacify the water goddess and request release of sacred salmon, allowing them to rise from the 'there and then' to the 'here and now' in time to swim upstream to spawn and bring the wheel of life full turn once more.

Many thanks Tom. Perhaps it was even better before came the Kelts and felled forests for farming. Industry did much damage but now most of it gone, the salmon are slowly coming back.
