One of my favorite presents, I got one Christmas time. A team signed Cincinnati Bengals full-sized helmet; it was so divine. I thought I opened up all my presents, on Christmas Eve. I woke up on Christmas morning, I was certainly deceived. Right under the tree, I couldn't believe what I saw. A present with the words written: “To Jacob from Santa,” my mind was in awe. I had stopped believing in Santa, many years ago. This was a present from my dad and uncle, I later came to know. My uncle was a Steelers fan; he and I were foes. Bad blood between us, because of the team I chose. (Not literally just a sports clique) Every time the Bengals lost against the Steelers, he would call and brag. One time I bought him Steeler baby bottles, I thought it was a funny gag. Sadly, my uncle passed away, not that many years later. He died a Steeler’s fan, that rotten traitor (I’m kidding, I loved my uncle). Every time I look at that helmet, I think of our football feud. Even though he was a Steeler’s fan, my uncle was a pretty cool dude. Written for I Remember Poetry Contest Sponsored by: Malabika Ray Choudhury Written March 8, 2021

This is a 'silly' question, but did Reggie Williams sign your Bengals helmet?! He was an All-Pro linebacker for the Bengals, and played 14 years, I think. He went to 'my' college. That's how I know of him. (He's four years younger than I am). Happy Memories, Gershon

No, my actual helmet was signed by the 2008- 2009 Cincinnati Bengals when Carson Palmer played QB, before Chris Henry passed away. The photo I used for the poem I copied and pasted from online. Thank you Gershon for dropping by to say hello. God bless and have a wonderful week! (: - Jacob
