The Deception of Light

No day is without its reminder that life is a brief encounter with light. Do not therefore envy a star, for though it shines brightly through eons of time, its light may have died eons ago and the sight your eyes behold is now at most the remaining vestige of its ghost.

I seem to forget that we see the light of a star years after she has died; a marvelous concept!
