Our Walk Today

When Sara and I take our walk each day, We usually go the same old way. Today we decided to make a change, We decided to make our walk free range. We went to a park named Natural Springs. It had a dog park and playground with swings. We chose a trail with overhanging trees, We had a full sun, but also a breeze. I saw a small path that led to a stream, But Sara said, “the path’s too extreme.” I gave her my, I really want to look, And she said, “I’ll sit here and read my book.” I walked a few minutes, looking about, Then thought, I’m not sure just how to get out. It wasn’t long ‘til I found the right path. I crossed the stream without taking a bath. There was my Sara, as I topped the hill, She told her new squirrel friend, “here comes my Bill.” We shared my adventure as we walked away, We were glad we tried a different way.

Sounds like you both had a lovely excursion, Bill. Sometimes it's good to step out of one's comfort zone. This also kind of reminds me of Robert Frost's "The Path Not Taken".

I believe that it does us good to break up our routine from time to time...same like water has to be 'activated' to save it from becoming stagnant. Glad you enjoyed your walk :) Regards // paul

Your life with Sara seems to be so very happy. I feel that you are a couple made for each other, having almost similar interests. Once in a while it is pleasurable to follow one's own inclinations. That will give you chances for new excitements and many subjects to talk together and enjoy. Enjoyed your sweet poem much !

Dear Bill, your beautiful poem gave me the feeling that though you and Sara both walk together, sometimes you each have to follow your own path to self-discovery and self-contentment.. the satisfaction and joy of which brings you both back to travel the same path home together again. Such a tender, intimate, loving feeling to this piece. Splendid, my friend! Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

It's true, Susan, we all have our own path to follow in life, other shared the path with us from time to time, and some are with us almost all the time; such is the case of Sara and I. Thanks for seeing beyond the obvious in my simple poem, my friend. A poet friend in Texas, Bill

Bill! This is my 1st poem to read after returning from ~3 mos illness AND i am absolutely delighted. You took me with you to that splendor park, but what i felt most of all, is the deep/easy love you two share; it lives in the perceptions of each line. This poem is stunning music of loving hearts! Bravo! Hugs, sally

Simple pleasures ... Bill, USA is lught years ahead of South African humans. In eastern Cape province, in Fort Beaufort &:townships, I see no parks remaining & never a swing. As in CapexTown, drug dealers take over such community places, ,even libraries - mostly closed, no internet - and it's hard to remain positive here. Neighbors smile but steal everything by cutting hokes in ones fence -- behind ones back. I say, Jesus Forgive them, help me love them. Amen

I understand your situation, Anil. We lived on the Texas border ten years and it was much like what you're describing. We have to realize that God is in control and in the end Love wins. We must accept whatever experiences God sends our way. We may see them as blessings or problems, but if it's God's will they are all blessings. When our time is up we will be with the Father once again. Smiles and Blessings my friend. Bill

Thanks for the comments and blessings, Gershon. I've found that a lot of the things I see as problems are just God's way of teaching me lessons that will bless my life or the lives of others I meet along the way. May God bless and keep you, Bill
