Grief And Loss FE6

Are life’s griefs to stay like set cement? Or drift away, like any passing day? How can I be sure how much to endure? Before I let it go, and let the future flow? With a silent moment’s thought of things taught A calming peace is caught, only if it’s bought. With reverent intent, remorse is spent. Let go and move forward with good intent.

A beautiful take on grief, and good advice. The last line says it all for me. Thank you, Bill.

This poem took my breath away, dear hubby. I appreciate how you started your poem with a question-one that gives the reader pause..then you subltly offered advice. I'm grateful for your words as we deal with the grief associated with our uncle's death. Thank you for these words, hugs, Sara

Profound words my friend.. Think about all those suffering all over the world.. not just mentally, but physically also.. people starving, homeless, children becoming orpans.. no support.. no help, so sad... so much atrocities in the world and people just watch on.. so much never reported like Africa, which has been raped for centuries.. great poem..

So true, Silent One, especially the tragedy that is Africa. They have been wronged and ignore by most of the other countries in the world. It's sad that so many have so little. My heart goes out to them, and my money to missionaries there for years. Thanks for the meaningful comments, my friend. Have a great weekend! Bill

My only grief is physical and it won't leave me. But I am able to let go of emotional grief fairly easily. Just the way I am built. I guess that's why I got cursed with the physical stuff . Good poem, Bill.

Some never do get over grief, but for most time really does help heal. It's more than a cliche, it's a gift. Nice one Bill

Good intentions are important always i believe dear bill, your way of writing is truly thought provoking and soulful. I love the flow of this and what you’ve delivered here. “ how can i be sure how much to endure” what an evocative line, that made me think deep. “ A calming peace is caught, only if it’s bought. With reverent intent, remorse is spent.“ couldnt have said it any better, and letting go is the way to heal and move on, to find inner peace and light. Sending you light always. Fave

Thank you for your mindful comments, Empress. Deeper thoughts seem to stay with me a lot. There's much more to life and death than we generally think about. Thank you, also, for the light and the FAV! Getting a FAV always makes me smile. Have a pleasant weekend. Sending light and love your way. Bill

Hang onto grief, let it go, or reposition it. I think traces of it can stick around. I'm glad you brought attention to it in your poem.

I agree, Hilda. Let it server its purpose, but don't allow it to control your thoughts or life. Have a pleasant weekend, my friend. Bill

Dear Bill, I love how you navigate the delicate balance between holding onto pain and letting it dissipate. Your contemplation on the permanence of grief and the uncertainty of endurance is fascinating. Through introspective questioning, you convey the struggle of reconciling past sorrows with the promise of a brighter future. Bill, ultimately, your message of releasing remorse and embracing forward movement with intention offers peace and hope. - Blessings, Daniel
